Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions and answers

Do I need an appointment to try on your dresses?

Yes, we are by appointment only so you have the bridal suite exclusively for you and your friends/family. We want you to have uninterrupted attention from your stylist.

Appointments are 1hr 30mins and require a £20 booking fee. Should you decide to purchase your dress from XO Bridal, this is redeemable against your purchase.

How long in advance of my wedding do I need to shop?

Most designers require at least 4-6 months for delivery of your order. You then need to allow time for alterations. Therefore, to ensure you are not left worrying about having your dress in time I would recommend shopping at least 12 months or more before your wedding date.

On occasion, some designers can provide a quick turnaround or we may have something in store you can purchase on the day so if you are pushed for time please do contact us and we can try to accommodate you.

How many people can I bring to my appointment?

It is best to have a proper think about this before you ask people to attend with you. Some brides have many close friends or family they would like to include in this all important decision.

However, too many people can mean lots of different opinions and often just leaves you feeling confused. We advise you bring your very closest friends/family whose opinion you value most; someone you can trust to give their honest opinion but who remember that you are the bride and this is YOUR dream dress.

Can I wear false tan to my appointment?

We do ask that you refrain from wearing any false tan or bronzers to your appointment.

Each of our dresses are kept in immaculate condition so that every bride is presented with beautifully cared for gowns to try on. We would not ask any bride to try on a gown with tan or marks, so we ask you to help us with your cooperation and understanding with this. Unfortunately, you will be refused to try on our gowns if you arrive with tan on.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?

There are no special requirements, however, it can be helpful to wear nude underwear and bring a strapless bra with you.

We have shoes for you to wear if you wish or you can simply just stand on our podium. If you prefer to bring your on shoes you are more than welcome to but it's certainly not a necessity.

Do you sell bridesmaids dresses?

At XO Bridal we are all about the bride, therefore we specialise only in all things bridal including gowns, veils, capes and headpieces.

Do you provide the alterations for my dress?

We do not offer alterations at XO Bridal. We have people visiting from near and far therefore we can recommend a seamstress near you. It is entirely the brides choice who they use to get their alterations; but we do highly recommend you get a seamstress who is experienced with bridal alterations, as this is very different to your everyday clothing alterations.

Do you have parking at your premises?

Yes - we have a fabulous car park right outside with ample spaces. And they are extra wide so you have plenty of space to get in and out.
